The Book Launch of Hong Kong’s Last English Bishop: The Life and Times of John Gilbert Hindley Bake

The book launch of ‘The Last British Bishop of Hong Kong: The Life and Times of Bishop John Barker’ was successfully held on the morning of 16 October, with more than ten guests in attendance. 

The Revd Professor Philip L. Wickeri briefly shared the content of the new book. He showed a number of precious photographs of Bishop Barker, including his early years, his ministry in China, his pastoral work in the UK and the US and his retirement.

After the sharing of the book by Professor Wickeri, Mr. Adam Mok and Dr. Ruiwen Chan brought beautiful music to Bishop’s House by performing Gu Qin and Piano. After that, Professor Wickeri presented certificates to the summer interns of 2021 to thank them for their efforts during the internship.

The book launch concluded in a book signing and enjoyable conversation with guests.
