The Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission visited the Archives

On February 13 (Thursday), the HKSKH Archives were glad to receive Acting General Secretary Elder Chan Yau Leung, Executive Secretary Mr. Yeung Ho Tim, and Executive Secretary Ms. Bao Libin, are both from the Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission to visit the office of the Archives, and deepen the understanding of the HKSKH and work of archives management. The Revd. Prof. Philip L. Wickeri, Provincial Archivist, introduced the history of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, shared the founding and development of HKSKH Archives, and presented them with the book, ‘Glimpses of the Southern Hills: Festschrift in Honor of Professor Philip L. Wickeri’. In addition, they also conducted academic exchanges with Dr. Chen Ruiwen on the history of Christianity and HKSKH. Afterward, our staff showed them some of our collections and historical archives. We thank their interest and support for the HKSKH Archives, and look forward to more opportunities for exchanges and cooperation in the future.

 

The Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission was founded in 1943 and was originally called the China Native Evangelistic Crusade. When it was first founded, it focused on missionary work, with the purpose of spreading the gospel to the Chinese through the Chinese. The Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission found many seminaries and Bible colleges for providing training and education, and also actively preached the gospel to the public and society. Currently, the Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Commission has established 21 churches, 1 neighborhood elderly center, and 6 schools (including primary, secondary schools and kindergartens) in Hong Kong, 1 church in Macau, and 3 churches in Taiwan.
