September 4, 1807       Arrival of Robert Morrison in Macau

Robert Morrison arrived in Macau on September 4, 1807, two-hundred and Twelve years ago. This was the beginning of the Protestant missionary movement in China. Morrison pioneered in translation work, and he produced one of the first complete translations of the Bible. He is buried in the Protestant Cemetery, just behind the Morrison Chapel.
