2025 Summer Internship Programme

Date: Tuesday 02 Sep 2025

As August comes to a close, we would like to celebrate our intern, Abby Tsoi, on the final day of this year’s summer internship program. Congratulations to her for successfully completing a three-month internship. Throughout the summer, Abby played a key role in organizing historical archival materials and preparing information for our upcoming exhibition. She was also responsible for translating and proofreading theology articles in both Chinese and English.

We are particularly grateful to Abby for her assistance in compiling a catalog list for the Anglican Chinese newspaper 'Ling Duo Zhou Kan,' published from 1930 to 1940. This index not only facilitates quick reference to the newspaper's content but also enhances the process of searching and locating specific articles.

During her internship, Abby had the opportunity to visit St. Stephen’s College, St. John’s Cathedral, All Saints' Cathedral, and participated in a workshop arranged by our staff that focused on paper preservation and Chinese bookbinding. We believe that, alongside gaining valuable hands-on experience as part of our archival staff, it's essential for interns to engage in more activities related to history and culture, allowing them to interact with different practitioners in the field. These activities enable interns to explore the development and philosophy of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (or other institutions they research and explore in the future) from diverse perspectives and understand the importance of archive preservation in historical research.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to Abby for her contributions and support to our archives. We hope that the experience she has gained during this internship will propel her toward achieving her aspirations and lead to a bright future ahead.
